NEWS JUNKIE

News Junkie is a dark comedy with a message about modern news reporting in America.

A young woman humorously describes how she has become addicted to 24-hour cable news networks, touching on subjects ranging from the Laci Peterson murder to the Michael Jackson trial and the War in Iraq.

The film's dark humor catches most viewers off guard; at one point the main character describes Laci Peterson's disappearance as a 'sign from Heaven' and complains that the U.S. Wars in Afghanistan and Iraq 'were like releasing two movie sequels too close together.'

The main character both quirky and chilling, and the story concludes with a twisted and a surprising payoff.

News Junkie is a completed short film. Festival submissions are underway.
